Setup the homepage
Create a new page an give this page the name Home. In the right column under Page Attributes select the Home template. Save the page.
Navigate to Settings > Reading. Set the Front page displays on A static page. Set the Front page on the page you’ve just created. Don’t forget to save the settings.
Widget Area’s
The homepage has three widget area’s. One above the latest portfolio items and two under the portfolio items. In the preview of the theme we’ve used a text-widget, the Genesis eNews Extended widget and the Genesis Featured Posts widget.
Navigate to Appearance -> Widgets.
Header Widget
Click the Home Header widget. Drag a text-widget from the left to this widget area. Add some text and save. If you like to use symbols like in the example you can use Font Awesome. Just copy past the i with the class. See for an example the heart we’ve used.
Home section 1
Click the Home Section 1 widget. Drag the Genesis eNews Extended widget form the left to this widget area. Be sure you have the Genesis eNews Extended plugin installed! Information about setting up this plugin can be found here.
Home section 2
Click the Home Section 2 widget. Drag the Genesis Featured Posts widget from the left to this widget area. In the theme demo we use the settings as set in the screenshot. The most important setting if you want to use the Featured images is the Image size. this must be set at post-image 1140-570. Other settings are optional.
